A.S Timbo Scholarship.

Every year, thousands of Guinean students are denied the quality education they deserve due to their family’s socioeconomic status. Often, these students are forced to drop out of school to support their families, sacrificing their educational dreams.

The Guinean Alliance for Education and Development (GAED) is committed to advancing educational equity.

how we help.

We offer financial assistance to students facing economic challenges, empowering them to achieve their academic goals.

To achieve this mission, we established the A.S. Timbo Scholarship. This highly competitive scholarship will be awarded to high-performing and promising students in Guinea’s public universities. The scholarship fund is named in honor of Alhaji S. Timbo, one of our founding board members, who was a dedicated public servant, an educator, and a pioneer of peace, African unity, and educational access for all.

In honoring his legacy, this fund supports inspiring students who are making significant contributions to their communities while maintaining outstanding academic records.

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a Guinean citizen residing in Guinea, Conakry.
  • Be amongst the top 10% of his/her high school graduating class.
