A.S Timbo Scholarship campaign.

Help Us Provide Financial Scholarships to High Performing Guinean Students.

The Challenge

Currently, countless talented university students in Guinea face a significant barrier to their academic success: the lack of resources to pursue their dreams. Many of these bright minds struggle to afford their school fees, living expenses, and basic necessities like laptops—essential tools for their education. I am Dr. Stephanie Schechner, GAED’s Chair, and I invite you to join me in empowering the next generation of Guinean leaders.

What We're Doing

At GAED, we believe that every individual deserves the chance to achieve their fullest potential and we are dedicated to nurturing the dreams of Guinea’s university students.

Our A.S. Timbo Scholarship is designed to fill the financial gaps, providing financial scholarships and essential resources like laptops to well-deserving students in need.

The Impact

Your gift has the power to change lives. With your support, we can:

1. Educate: Equip children with the tools and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond.

2. Equip: Supply laptops and other essential tools that enable students to excel in their academic pursuits.

3. Empower: Foster a generation of educated, skilled, and confident young professionals ready to contribute to their communities and the world.

As an educator deeply committed to student success, I have witnessed the transformative power of education in shaping young lives. One memorable experience that stands out is my trip to Conakry and Labe in December 2017. During this visit, I saw firsthand the profound impact of our donations.

Alongside our past President Mamadou Keita and other members of the GAED team, I met with university leaders and presented computers generously donated by Agilent, one of our corporate partners.

The gratitude and excitement from the students were unforgettable and deeply moving, underscoring the tremendous difference that even a single laptop can make in their educational journey.

Why It Matters

The need is urgent. Many talented students in Guinea are on the verge of missing out on their educational dreams due to financial challenges.

Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 by September 30, 2024. Reaching this target will allow us to fund the education of deserving students through the A. S. Timbo Scholarship Fund.
